You probably want to know a) I will be able to understand/relate to your situation, and b) do I know what I am doing?
Starting with the former, I have lived as an expat in the UK and the US for over a decade, and I have lived through the experience of living away from one’s country, culture, family and friends. And while I am truly grateful for this experience, it involved huge challenges and struggles that I had to get through, at times leading to anxiety, depression and feeling lost. It took me a while to find the right type of help and develop the skills to manage well, but now I know what it takes to get through this.
And I also got to a point where I find great joy in sharing these skills with others. Of course, you have to be in a space where you are willing to make some changes, but I am thrilled to be by your side and support you in this process.

I am an experienced integrative counselor working in Budapest, with degrees in psychology (BSc), counseling and psychotherapy (MA), and have trained in the UK. I am a trainee couple and family counsellor, and also work with couples.
I provide counselling to people who experience excessive worry, anxious/panicky thoughts, hopelessness, stress, loss, low self-esteem, or difficulties with changes in relationships, home or work life. I also have a specialty in mental health and substance misuse problems (drug/alcohol/porn/gambling) and using Mindfulness based interventions. I work with my clients in both Hungarian and English.
I work face to face, but also offer Skype/phone counselling where appropriate.
I also offer 8 week Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) programmes to groups and individuals as well as for organisations and employers.
